Stroud Silver KM - U11s Race

ON the day entries will be available from the Silver Mile / KM registration tent.
2019 sees the return of the the popular Junior “Stroud Silver Mile and Silver Km".
This was always a popular race for youngsters on the morning of Stroud Half Marathon.
The race historically took place along the Cainscross Road, but due to issues with residents and road users, the race has not gone ahead for the past few years.
The all new Stroud Silver Mile (and Silver Km) will now be run as a cross country race within the sports ground of Marling School whilst the Stroud Half Marathon takes place.
The start area is on the bottom playing field and will be signed on the day of the event.
Parking is available in Stroud in the signed Stroud Half Marathon car parks
There are 3 races taking place:
09:15 - U13 Silver Mile (limit of 35 runners)
09:30 - U11 Silver Km (limit of 50 runners)
09:45 - U15 Silver Mile (Limit of 35 runners)
This event is the U11's race (School Years 4 and 5)
Entry to the race costs £5 for non UKA affiliated runners and £3 if you are affiliated.
There will be a medal for each race finisher.
Full on Sport will charge a non refundable fee to the race entry cost.

If you are unsure whether you can compete within a certain age group (u11, u13, u15) then the following guidelines taken from the UK Athletics Rules for Competition (Rule 107) will help determine which age group is applicable.
(1) The Competition Year shall extend from 1st October to 30th September in the following year.
Under 11 Boys and Girls (School Years 4 and 5)
UK Athletics Rules do not specifically cater for athletes under the age of 11 years. This does not necessarily preclude provision by organisers of competitions for events for athletes younger than 11 years, with correspondingly reduced distances to be run and lighter implements to be used.
